Howcast and wikiHow: Bringing More How-to’s to Life
Posted on August 2nd, 2010 in Distribution Partners, News
Indy Stein here, Howcast’s newest full-time employee on the distribution team, with some news about a partner project we’re kicking off today. As if we don’t make our content accessible enough across the internet, we’ve started a new initiative with wikiHow.com that allows wikiHow members to write how-to articles based on Howcast videos.
wikiHow produces text-only guides to help users accomplish everyday tasks. Before this new initiative, the only way to view Howcast videos on wikiHow was if one of wikiHow’s community members embedded a video on their article page. Now you can view our videos first, and then construct a wikiHow guide based on the information in the video.
To get started, check out the Howcast Article Creation Project. The wikiHow team even wrote a how-to article about using our videos as source material for articles on their site.
A big shout-out to the wikiHow team for working with us on this project. Be sure to browse their entire library of articles and how-to content, and message me at Howcast12345 if you find a wikiHow article you think would make a good Howcast video. We’re always looking for ways to expand our content library.
As always, keep watching and keep learning … after all, that is what we’re here for.
